Poggio al Tesoro
Poggio al Tesoro is located in Bolgheri, one of Tuscany’s most picturesque areas, a land of Etruscan origins renowned for its medieval village, the iconic Viale dei Cipressi immortalised in Carducci’s poetry, and its proximity to the Tyrrhenian coast. In 2001, captivated by this territory, Marilisa Allegrini founded Poggio al Tesoro, today one of the largest estates in the Bolgheri area. The estate extends over 100 hectares, 70 of which are planted with vines, divided among four vineyard sites: Via Bolgherese, Chiesina di San Giuseppe, Le Sondraie and Valle di Cerbaia. Among the most significant areas are the vineyards along Via Bolgherese, in the area known as Soprastrada, particularly suited to the production of high-quality wines, and Le Sondraie, the estate’s largest vineyard site, covering 50 hectares.
