Rosso di Montalcino is a wine with a distinct identity and a strong personality. Its style highlights the freshness and integrity of the grapes from this terroir – Sangiovese – balancing intensity with an immediate appeal. It is particularly appreciated by lovers of a refined, elegant style of cuisine.
Rosso di Montalcino is vinified in concrete tanks, with a maceration period of about 3 weeks to enhance the youthful and fruity characteristics of Sangiovese. It ages for 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels of 4000-8000 litre capacity before further ageing of at least 4 months in the bottle before release on the market.
A clear, bright ruby red. On the nose, aromas of fresh berries and delicate Morello cherry, followed by blackberry, black cherry and hints of vanilla. Dry and elegant on the palate, it has energy and freshness, a satisfying, long finish and soft, well-balanced tannins.
Naturally very well suited to typical Tuscan dishes with bold, distinctive flavours, with mushroom pasta and risotto, pork, grilled meat and medium-mature cheeses. Serve at 16°C and open an hour before serving.
