Valpolicella Superiore is one of the great traditional wines from Verona, well-known and loved for its moderation and elegance. It owes its ‘superiority’ to its ageing in oak, which helps to enrich its structure and complexity.
In comparison to Valpolicella Classico, while the winemaking technique is the same, it ages for 12 months in wood (50% Slavonian oak casks, 50% barriques).
Bright ruby red in colour with a captivating nose of red berries. It is dry with a velvety texture on the palate and has a delicate aftertaste of almonds and a pleasantly persistent finish.
Valpolicella Superiore pairs with roasts (pork, veal, guinea-fowl, lamb), mushroom dishes, and medium-matured cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C and open one hour before serving.
70% Corvina Veronese 25% Rondinella 5% Oseleta
