Sangiovese, Montalcino’s main, rather austere grape variety, is blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, yielding a wine with great freshness and versatility and a deep ruby red colour. Both elegant and modern, Rubio expresses the lively fragrances and colours of an unspoilt natural environment. 

The wine ferments in truncated conical and refrigerated stainless-steel vats. The low fermentation and maceration temperatures facilitate the enhancement of the aromas and perfumes and lend silkiness and an enjoyable palate to the wine. 
The wine ages in steel tanks for 10 months and another 4 in the bottle before being released on the market. 

A brilliant ruby red colour with purples highlights, this is an intensely fruity wine with cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry and violet aromas, followed by fresh, delicate herbaceous notes. 
It is well structured and dry on the palate, with s oft tannins and a long, aromatic finish. 

Rubio is a fresh and easy-drinking wine, which can be paired with charcuterie and pasta dishes with classic Italian sauces. Excellent when coupled with mature cheeses, such as Tuscany’s famed pecorino. The perfect wine to enjoy at a barbeque with friends. Serve at 14-16°C and open an hour before drinking.
