Our very best Corvina and Rondinella grapes are left to partially dry for 3-4 months. After fermentation the wine is aged for 5 months in stainless steel tanks, for 15 months in wooden barrels (50% large Slavonian oak casks, 50% second-use barriques) and for another 6 months in the bottle.
Intense ruby red colour, the wine unleashes aromas of ultra-ripe red fruit that is still pulpy and crunchy, with notes of pepper, cloves and tobacco. It is full-bodied, enveloping and velvet-smooth, with silky tannins and a lengthy finish.
Perfect with braised meats, game (particularly hare), duck à l’orange and extra-mature cheeses. Serve at 16°C and open at least an hour before drinking.
